NEW! COCO CRUNCH COIR

COCOCOIRBALES.jpg

Ground coconut, coir, has been found to be superior to peat moss in water holding capacity and aeration. It does not require a wetting agent nor liming. For growers doing their own media mixing cost savings can be realized by substituting coir for perlite and/or vermiculite. Coir also resists the compression shrinkage normally associated with peat for further savings

Van der Knaap produces this environmentally friendly sustainable product in the Dominican Republic and currently ships it to the US in 56.5 cu ft bales with a material compression rate of about 2.5:1 – similar to peat bales. (56CF compressed bales= aprox 110cf loose) Van der Knaap coir also has a higher percentage of fiber than has been typically found in coir blocks giving it further stability and aeration. Ask your Maryland Plant Supply representative how VdK coir can help move your growing and marketing into the future.
